Program FAQs

How old does a client need to be before they can participate in equine- assisted activities and therapy (EAAT)?Clients must be at least 4 years of age.

Do you have adult clients or only children?We see both children and adults.

Is there a weight restriction for the therapeutic riding program?We carefully match a client to a horse and have a maximum weight limit of 180 lbs. Depending upon the capability or challenges, of the rider, the weight guideline could fluctuate.

If I am in a wheelchair can I ride?Yes. We have a ramp and are specially trained to safely mount and dismount you from the horse.

Will my insurance pay for EAAT?Many companies offer a flex pay program that allows you to deduct pre-taxed monies in order to pay for therapeutic riding program sessions. Some individuals are able to receive partial reimbursement through their health insurance for our Mental and Behavioral Health program.

Will my child be alone or in a group session for the therapeutic riding?Before anyone starts riding, an evaluation is done to determine if individual or group sessions are best for the client.

Do you accept clients with all disabilites?We accept children and adults with many kinds of special challenges. Please contact us and we will be happy to discuss your personal needs.

Do I need to have my own horse and tack?No. The ranch will supply the horses and the tack for your sessions

How often do I ride?Each rider will ride 1 time per week fduring sessions with intermitent breaks for holidays.

When are the sessions?Our hours of operations vary throughout the year. At this time, we are not offering sessions on weekends.
