Program FAQs

  • How old does a client need to be before they can participate in equine- assisted activities and therapy (EAAT)?
    Clients must be at least 4 years of age.
  • Do you have adult clients or only children?
    We see both children and adults.
  • Is there a weight restriction for the therapeutic riding program?
    We carefully match a client to a horse and have a maximum weight limit of 180 lbs. Depending upon the capability or challenges, of the rider, the weight guideline could fluctuate.
  • If I am in a wheelchair can I ride?
    Yes. We have a ramp and are specially trained to safely mount and dismount you from the horse.
  • Will my insurance pay for EAAT?
    Many companies offer a flex pay program that allows you to deduct pre-taxed monies in order to pay for therapeutic riding program sessions. Some individuals are able to receive partial reimbursement through their health insurance for our Mental and Behavioral Health program.
  • Will my child be alone or in a group session for the therapeutic riding?
    Before anyone starts riding, an evaluation is done to determine if individual or group sessions are best for the client.
  • Do you accept clients with all disabilites?
    We accept children and adults with many kinds of special challenges. Please contact us and we will be happy to discuss your personal needs.
  • Do I need to have my own horse and tack?
    No. The ranch will supply the horses and the tack for your sessions
  • How often do I ride?
    Each rider will ride 1 time per week fduring sessions with intermitent breaks for holidays.
  • When are the sessions?
    Our hours of operations vary throughout the year. At this time, we are not offering sessions on weekends.
